Olivia Burton Watches X Kapok

Mention the name Olivia Burton and endless images of floral, feminine vintage inspired watches come to mind.
I recently had the opportunity to attend the launch of the Olivia Burton's
'Enchanted Garden' collection at multi label concept store;
Kapok.
Their flagship store is at National Design Centre (NDC).

Kapok is a multi label boutique from Hong Kong.
With 8 stores around the country, they aim to support up and coming designers and curate a variety of lesser known brands known for their creative and quirky designs.

I first chanced upon this vintage inspired watch brand through UK Magazine; Company and have fallen in love with their watches ever since.
Olivia Burton Watches  is a beautifully presented English designer watch label founded by Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings out of their sheer need for stylish timepieces,
the duo decided to come up with their own designs to fulfill that need.
One can expect their watches to be 'bursting with British style'  with all the whimsical and pretty pieces, evident in their collections.

The brand has 11 collections to date and Kapok stocks quite a variety across the collections.
With a substantial range to choose from, there's something for everyone!
Collections range from timeless classics to big dials, midi dials or even those of you who like a daintier style, there's also a mini dial collection.
For those who aren't really into florals, there are also the woodland and animal motif collection just for you.

I love all things floral, whimsical and romantic so my favourites have got to be the ones pictured below
These are from the Winter Garden & English Rose collection

Some of the pieces from the other collections

The Kapok flagship store at National Design Centre really lives up to its name.
It combines the essence of modern and minimalist elements which is the perfect canvas for the specially curated products.
Guess what?
The store also houses a cafe that serves a wide variety of drinks and cakes.
Talk about retail and food therapy!

Look at how adorable these animal scarves are!!!
They're by London based independent designer Cleo Ferin Mercury.
I've got to try one of these on!
Here's Sandra from Pardon My French PR helping me out with one of the scarves.

How does it look?

Doing my best kitty cat impression to match the scarf LOL~

Close up of the cat scarf.
They're made of silk and you can really feel the quality.

For lovers of scented candles and scents,
there's a section just for you!

The theme was 'Enchanted Garden' and along with my partner in crime,
we were decked in floral dresses.

My outfit:
Dress| TOPSHOP
Shoes| Clarks X Orla Kiely

Mom's Outfit:

Thanks for this lovely pic of my mom and me team Kapok!

True??

Kapok also stocks the very cool and nonchalant looking CRASH luggage!
Alex loves this hahaha~

I like what the tag says

Other than accessories, watches and scents, Kapok also stocks apparel for fashionistas who need your mandatory dose of fashion!

French label Maison Kitsuné can also be found here

Quirky pins from local art & design driven label The Little Dröm Store.
I remember I loved spending time poring through their stuff whenever we went to Kki Sweets for cakes.
They stock many adorable and interesting knick knacks, often with local flavour.

Our evening at Kapok came to a pleasant finale with a tea presentation by Pin Tea, a local artisan tea company founded by a group of young Singaporeans who are both avid travellers and tea drinkers.
The brand aims to celebrate local culture through tea and each tea creation takes inspiration from iconic Singaporean neighbourhoods, each with a unique story of their own.
Like the 'Amoy Ahoy' that's reminiscent of the hazy opium dens in the era where Chinese coolies sailed to Singapore in search of a better future.
Or the 'Tekka Minute', a fragrant Jasmine tea that's inspired by the floral garland merchants along Tekka Market.

The teas are sold at $18 for 12 individually packed teabags and $25 for 18 individually packed tea bags that can be bought at their website www.pintea.sg and select retailers such Kapok as well as Naiise shops around the island.

My mom being an avid drinker of tea bought the Tekka Minute to savour at home.
See how happy she looks with her purchase lol~

Versatility is A State of Mind

With temperatures at a perpetual high on our sunny little island, it's safe to say we wish for cooler temperatures. With the recent haze issue where we feel like being stuck in a slow pressure cooker, breathing in the burnt smell without the view of blue skies, I think we are all pretty happy that we are able to see blue skies again!

I'm celebrating the return of the blue skies and hot evening sun in this outfit.
I've always liked floral prints and have been looking for a structured and unique tube top.
I was thrilled when I finally found this one from MDS Collections cos I really liked the asymmetrical hemline and the 'V' neckline.
I wanted a clean and sleek look so I paired it with a pair of white culottes and
I also chose accessories that brought out the rich jewel tones of the top.
The rich jewel tones of the top, bag and earrings are    !

Close up of the pretty tropical floral prints and this gorgeous quilted bag in a
luxurious shade of royal purple!

I like that this outfit is more versatile than it seems!
It's perfect for a beach holiday by swapping those heels with pretty sandals and the quilted bag for a straw bag and not forgetting the floppy hat to protect our face from the sun.
It's also good for a casual shopping day when paired with some ballerina flats or made more corporate friendly by adding a structured blazer.
The top can also be tucked into a high waist maxi skirt and look like gown for attending weddings.

I'll be sure to try out these outfit ideas soon!
